On Saturday August 8th 2015, JumpStart Academy Africa graduated it’s first class of scholars in Cameroon. The event took place in Bamenda, Cameroon and was presided by the Divisional Delegate of Secondary Education Mr Munda Mathias. Mr Munda announced that the government has recognized the impact of JumpStart Academy Africa and commended the model to be replicated at more schools across the country.
Also speaking at the event, was one of the scholars Massa Civian Kiki who dazzled the crowd with her story and her experience as a JumpStart Academy Africa Scholar.
Co-Founder and President of JumpStart Academy Africa Madelle Kangha in an address, highlighted the achievements of the Academy thus far. Such highlights include:
– Pre-JumpStart, our scholars had an average income of $18 a month and after completing the program, our scholars now have an average income of $74 – a startling 311% increase.
– Our scholars have created 8 Viable businesses and social enterprises which have generated a combined revenue of over half a million frs CFA in under six months of operation.
– Within first Academic term 75% of our scholars saw an average 70% improvement in their academic performance.

Ms Kangha in her address also announced the appointment of Ms Estella Bih-Neh as the Country Director for JumpStart Academy Africa in Cameroon. Introducing our Country Director
Ms Kangha ended by calling on the scholars to be legends of positive change & Ambassadors of JumpStart Academy Africa.
